CAST

  • Asha (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Philadelphia. Her earliest drama training was in Bharatanatyam, an ancient form of South Asian dance theatre. She also trained as a violist, performing in venues including Chicago's Symphony Center and the Sydney Opera House. Previous regional theatre roles include Luciana (Comedy of Errors), Ariel and Trinculo (The Tempest), Rosie Probert and Ensemble (Under Milk Wood), and Lizzy (The Wickhams: Christmas at Pemberley), among others. Asha will made Philadelphia debut as Noor in Inis Nua Theatre Company's Same Team this June, and is performing in a staged reading of Emergence at PlayPenn’s New Play Development Conference in August.

  • Sabrina Caruso (she/her) is a queer actress and writer based in Philadelphia. She studied the Meisner Technique at Rutgers University, and through Cabaret Theatre became involved in new work development and script adaptation. She continued her studies at Playhouse West in Philadelphia. Her theatre credits include Dawn (Lobby Hero), Angela (Stage Kiss), Lenny (Crimes of the Heart), and Laura (Significant Other). Her film credits include the upcoming queer horror short Beat Sweet Heart. She won Best Performance at the East Brunswick Film Festival for her role in This Isn’t Working and the Campus MovieFest National Golden Tripod Award for her role in Unsex Me.

  • Desiree Lara's most recent credits include The Play That Goes Wrong (Oakwood Summer Theatre), Our Town (Asbury Park Theater Company), Wit (Village Players of Hatboro), and of course, the staged reading version of My Carmilla. Her last time acting in Philadelphia's Fringe Festival was quite a different experience, as she played a maid in a black-box-style theater in an Agatha Christie interactive parody called And Then They Were Dead (Without A Cue Productions), nearly two years ago. That being said, she is supremely grateful for these unique stage experiences and would like to thank the entire My Carmilla team for inviting her to play the character of Madame once more.

  • Brian would like to extend gratitude to Asha, Sabrina, and Rayne for the opportunity to return to Philly Fringe, where he last appeared in Wolfsmouth Players Company’s Queerano, Or A Very Great Mischief (2025 “Fringie” Award, Theater). Other local acting credits include: Hay Fever, Million Dollar Quartet (Walnut Street Theater), Charlotte's Web (Arden Theater Company), Death Of A Salesman, Seascape (ActorsNET New Jersey), Much Ado About Nothing, Rabbit Hole, The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time (Stagecrafters Theater), Proof, Boy Gets Girl and Fuddy Meers (Montgomery Theater).

    This past spring Brian co-directed the Philadelphia premiere of Donald Margulies’s Lunar Eclipse for TheatreXP. A former student of the Meisner Technique at Playhouse West in Philadelphia, Brian has also written, directed, and acted in a number of short films, receiving the Audience Choice Award at the 2024 Playhouse West Film Festival.   • Rayne is from Southwest Philadelphia, and is a director, producer, playwright, performer, and founder of the Barrymore Award–winning Upstream Performance Collaborative. As a director, their practice spans new, classical, and established works, devised theatre, immersive performance, and community-driven plays, curating deeply collaborative rehearsal rooms that hold rigor, humor, and care.

    The Eagle Theatre, The Tamer, Tamed with Shakespeare

    in Clark Park, and Judy's Life's Work with Naptown African American Theatre Collective, as well as original works including WHISPER, The Medusa Play, The White Feather Project, and Every Everyman. They have also worked with Theatre Exile as an assistant director on Wolf Play and

    The Ever Present.

  • Madeline Shuron (they/she) works at the intersection of scholarship and performance, attempting to break down the audience-performer relationship through movement, music, text, puppetry, textiles, and paper pieces. Their current research interests include queer Yiddish dance leading and anti-authoritarian art practices in the classroom, and they're so thrilled to be adding intimacy through undeath to that list! 

    Her work has been witnessed at FringeArts (PHL), Temple University (PHL), Bryn Mawr College (PHL), the MAAS Studio (PHL), the Lawrence Art Center (KS), Random Access Gallery (NY), Dance Studies Association, and Post45:Contemporaries. They have also given lecture-demonstrations at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and the American College Dance Association’s 50th Anniversary Conference.

  • Juliette Nero Eddings is psyched to be on the team of My Carmilla! They are a multidisciplinary actor, dramaturg, and producer currently working in Philadelphia. Juliette has most recently co-produced and acted in a staged reading of Punch Back (Philly Theatre Week 2026); and served as the Wilma Theatre's Artistic Department Intern for the 2025-2026 season.

    They are particularly passionate about new play development, making classics accessible, and bringing queer & trans bodies and voices to the stage, so are very proud to be a part of the life (or un-death) of this production!

  • Quinton J. Alexander is a Philadelphia based fight director and actor. They have studied and earned certifications with The Society of American Fight Directors, Fight Directors Canada and The British Academy of Stage & Screen Combat. Notable fight director credits include Class C (Azuka Simpatico Theatre) Fire!! Devoted to Younger Negro Artists (Quintessence Theatre Group), In The Blood (Ursinus College Theater), and Witch (Swarthmore Players Club).

    Quinton enjoys working with theaters and creatives that uplift the stories of marginalized people. Black, brown, and LGBTQIA+ people deserve to have their stories told and they deserve to have skillfully crafted theatrical violence that protects the well-being of the actors while telling compelling stories on stage and screen.

    Quinton is a lover of vampires, pirates, history, philosophy, and video essays.

  • K.O. (she/they) is a bicoastal stage and screen artist. Proud union member AEA, SAG-AFTRA. Recently featured as Lorraine with Inis Nua Theatre Company’s U.S. premiere of Same Team by Robbi Jack Nurse.

    Research and studies include: Consent-forward spaces for stage and screen, physical training for the actor, and the Russian language. Certified yoga instructor (ashtanga-based vinyasa). Director of Programming for LA/Philly nonprofit Dancing With The Students.

  • Bless is a queer east coast based designer who aims to use light as a malleable ethereal material in order to explore the visual nuances of memory and time. Bless wishes to pursue the more primal aspects of being human, and highlights light's influence on our more subconscious and even spiritual experiences.
